jackson brothers jeff daniels and mark farner will perform at 2018 detroit music weekend

The return of Detroit Music Weekend is upon us and once again, it's all about the legends.

Taking place Thursday, June 14 through Sunday, June 17, Detroit Music Weekend is a celebration of the lasting impact of some of Detroit's most iconic artists.

Last year, divine Detroit diva
Aretha Franklin gave what could be her last performance and was honored when a portion of Madison Avenue was renamed "Aretha Franklin Way." This year, The Jackson 5 will receive the royal treatment. Tito, Marlon, Jackie, and Jermaine will perform a free 75-minute set on Saturday, June 16 full of hits, paying homage to fallen brother and "King of Pop" Michael "through use of revolutionary digital technology."

Opening night takes place on Thursday, June 14, and a DMW gala, tribute concert, and fashion show will sashay through Friday evening. Saturday will be free to the public and will offer outdoor performances across five stages from Paradise Valley Park to Capitol Park. The event will also include an immersive artesian shopping opportunity via the MotorCity Market.

In addition to a slew of new talent showcases and an EDM after party, Mark Farner of
Grand Funk Railroad and singer, songwriter, and actor Jeff Daniels will take the stage along with over 400 performers.
